The Saviola Carnival is Born

In the heart of the Mantua plain, along the course of the Po river, the hamlet of Villa Saviola in the Municipality of Motteggiana (Province of Mantua) is enriched with a new festival. In 2026, the first edition of the Saviola Carnival kicks off, organized by the Associazione Feste Saviolese APS, the same entity that enlivens the town with its events throughout the year.

A Parade of Masks Through the Village Streets

The event takes place at the Festa Area on Via Nilde Iotti, where the festival begins at 2 PM. The highlight is the parade of masks that crosses the village, with prizes reserved for the most beautiful and the most original and imaginative groups. Around the parade, the program offers games, music, entertainment, and plenty of sweets, as well as food and drinks for adults and children.

A Festival for the Whole Community

Designed primarily for families and children, the Saviola Carnival aims to bring the color and joy of Carnival to Villa Saviola, in a day of celebration open to all and with free entry. In case of bad weather, the event is postponed to Sunday, February 22nd. A new tradition is added to the calendar of Mantua festivals, showcasing the vitality of a small community in the lowlands, capable of creating new opportunities for gathering.
