About Sant'Antonio Fair

The Fiera di Sant'Antonio is the historic patronal feast of Migliaro, a hamlet of the Municipality of Fiscaglia, in the province of Ferrara. Every year, in mid-June, the town transforms into a large festive space: stalls along the streets of the center, the Borgo del Gusto with the specialties of the Bassa ferrarese, concerts, shows, and devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua. A tradition that is over seventy years old and attracts residents from neighboring municipalities for five days of music, flavors, and outdoor socializing.

A tradition spanning decades

The Sant'Antonio Fair is one of the most cherished events of the summer in the Bassa ferrarese. It takes place in Migliaro, a hamlet of the Municipality of Fiscaglia (Province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna), and is linked to the figure of Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint celebrated on June 13th. The 2026 edition is the 77th in its history: a continuity that dates back to the post-World War II era, making this fair one of the longest-running in the area.

Born as a mercantile and religious fair, the event has maintained its dual nature over time: on one hand, the public market, with food and non-food stalls animating Piazza 25 Aprile, Via Estense, and Via di Mezzo; on the other, the village festival, featuring good food, evening shows, and the awaited procession in honor of the saint.

The Borgo del Gusto and Bassa cuisine

The gastronomic heart of the fair is the Borgo del Gusto, the stand managed by the Pro Loco where every evening you can taste traditional Emilian dishes: tagliatelle al ragรน, risotto, gnocchi, grilled meats and fish, accompanied by homemade desserts and wine. It is the town's meeting point, where generations gather around tables under the festive lights.

Music, shows, and market

The evenings of the Sant'Antonio Fair offer a varied program: concerts, tributes to Italian song, variety shows, art exhibitions in the Sala Cinema Severi, and the classic tombola with prizes. Along the streets of the center, the market unfolds, with stalls selling clothing, accessories, household items, sweets, and toys, attracting visitors from all over the Bassa ferrarese.

A community celebration

Organized by the Pro Loco of Migliaro with the patronage of the Municipality of Fiscaglia, the fair is above all an occasion for a community to come together, which, though small, proudly preserves its traditions. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of authentic Emilian village festivals, where religious devotion, conviviality, and the market have coexisted for generations.
