The patronal feast of Migliaro, in the heart of the Bassa ferrarese
The Sant'Antonio Fair is one of the most cherished events of the summer in the Bassa ferrarese. It takes place in Migliaro, a hamlet of the Municipality of Fiscaglia (Province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna), and is linked to the figure of Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint celebrated on June 13th. The 2026 edition is the 77th in its history: a continuity that dates back to the post-World War II era, making this fair one of the longest-running in the area.
Born as a mercantile and religious fair, the event has maintained its dual nature over time: on one hand, the public market, with food and non-food stalls animating Piazza 25 Aprile, Via Estense, and Via di Mezzo; on the other, the village festival, featuring good food, evening shows, and the awaited procession in honor of the saint.
The gastronomic heart of the fair is the Borgo del Gusto, the stand managed by the Pro Loco where every evening you can taste traditional Emilian dishes: tagliatelle al ragรน, risotto, gnocchi, grilled meats and fish, accompanied by homemade desserts and wine. It is the town's meeting point, where generations gather around tables under the festive lights.
The evenings of the Sant'Antonio Fair offer a varied program: concerts, tributes to Italian song, variety shows, art exhibitions in the Sala Cinema Severi, and the classic tombola with prizes. Along the streets of the center, the market unfolds, with stalls selling clothing, accessories, household items, sweets, and toys, attracting visitors from all over the Bassa ferrarese.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Migliaro with the patronage of the Municipality of Fiscaglia, the fair is above all an occasion for a community to come together, which, though small, proudly preserves its traditions. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of authentic Emilian village festivals, where religious devotion, conviviality, and the market have coexisted for generations.
The 2026 edition, the 77th in the fair's history, takes place from June 12th to 16th, 2026 in the center of Migliaro, a hamlet of Fiscaglia, in the province of Ferrara. The streets and squares of the town โ Piazza 25 Aprile, Via Estense, and Via di Mezzo โ host the public market with food and non-food stalls, while the Pro Loco enlivens the evenings with the cuisine of the Borgo del Gusto and musical performances. The fair remains linked to the patronal feast of Saint Anthony of Padua, celebrated on June 13th.
The official dates for the 2026 edition are confirmed by the Emilia-Romagna Region's fairs portal: the fair takes place from Friday, June 12th to Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, with evening hours from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
The detailed program of the evenings (concerts, variety shows, exhibitions, and tombola) is usually announced by the Pro Loco of Migliaro in the weeks preceding the fair. Based on past editions, the evenings alternate concerts and tributes to Italian music, variety shows, and the classic tombola with prizes, while the Borgo del Gusto offers traditional Emilian dishes every evening.
