About Sant'Amato a Tavola

Every weekend in July and August, the small village of Sant'Amato, in the municipality of Vinci, transforms into a lively, convivial hub. Sant'Amato a Tavola is a food and wine festival celebrating the typical products of the Montalbano area: a food stand run by the Pro Loco S. Amato opens every evening, serving traditional Tuscan dishes, followed by live music, shows, and, for a sweet finish, bomboloni and brigidini. An authentic village festival with free admission in the green heart of Tuscany.

A village festival in the heart of Montalbano

Sant'Amato a Tavola is one of the most beloved summer festivals in the hills of Vinci. It takes place in Sant'Amato, a tiny village in the municipality of Vinci, in the province of Florence, nestled at the foot of Montalbano, the hilly ridge that separates the Valdarno from the Pistoia plain. It is here, among olive groves and vineyards, that the Pro Loco S. Amato has been organizing a food and wine festival for over thirty years that attracts visitors from all over Tuscany.

What to eat

The heart of the event is the food stand, open every evening, where Pro Loco volunteers prepare traditional Tuscan peasant dishes using typical Montalbano products. The menu changes but remains faithful to the genuine flavors of the past: homemade pasta, grilled meats, garden-fresh side dishes, and the desserts that have become the festival's trademark. To end every evening, you will find hot bomboloni and brigidini, the typical anise-scented wafers dear to the tradition of the area between Vinci and Lamporecchio.

Music, shows, and atmosphere

Sant'Amato a Tavola is not just about food. After dinner, the village comes alive with live music, performances by local bands, shows, and entertainment for the whole family. The atmosphere is that of a convivial and festive village gathering, where you sit at shared tables and chat late into the night under the stars of Montalbano.

A territory to discover

The festival is also an opportunity to discover a lesser-known corner of Tuscany, just a few kilometers from the village of Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo. Over the years, the event has been enriched with side initiatives such as evening walks along the trails of Montalbano, designed to combine the pleasure of good food with the discovery of the hilly landscape. With the patronage of the Municipality of Vinci, Sant'Amato a Tavola remains a staple of the Tuscan summer, keeping the identity of a small community alive thanks to the commitment of the Pro Loco volunteers.
