About Sansonessa Festival

At the Ecopark of Sansonessa, on the outskirts of Caorle, the traditional Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker has been drawing the community of eastern Veneto for over fifty years. Between April 30th and May 3rd, the food stalls offer polenta, pork ribs, local sausage, cheeses, and würstel, while on May 1st, the ritual of the mass, procession, and blessing of vehicles is renewed. A heartfelt village festival with free admission.

A Festival Lasting Half a Century

The Sansonessa Festival, dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker, is one of the longest-standing festivals in Caorle, in the province of Venice. It takes place at the Ecopark of Sansonessa, a large green area on the outskirts of the town, and celebrates the May 1st holiday between late April and early May.

The Traditional Table

Throughout the festival, the food stalls offer typical dishes of Venetian rural cuisine: polenta, pork ribs, local sausage, cheeses, potatoes, würstel, and beer, accompanied by music. The kitchen is open in the evenings and, on festival days, also for lunch.

Faith and Community

May 1st, the day of Saint Joseph the Worker, is the religious heart of the festival: morning mass, a procession, and the blessing of vehicles renew a deeply rooted popular tradition. The festival thus combines devotional and convivial aspects, with free admission for everyone.

Sansonessa Festival — edition 2026

The 52nd Sansonessa Festival, Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, takes place from April 30th to May 3rd, 2026, at the Ecopark Sansonessa in Caorle. Food stalls featuring polenta, pork ribs, local sausage, cheeses, and würstel, accompanied by music; on May 1st, mass, procession, and blessing of vehicles. Free admission.

The 2026 edition of the Sansonessa Festival will liven up the Ecopark of Caorle from April 30th to May 3rd. The kitchen will offer traditional Venetian dishes — polenta, pork ribs, local sausage, cheeses, potatoes, würstel, and beer — with evening service and, on festival days, also lunch. May 1st, the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, is dedicated to mass, procession, and the blessing of vehicles.
