The festival of unpublished songs that gives voice to emerging artists in the heart of NoLo
SanNoLo is the festival of emerging song that animates Milan's NoLo (North of Loreto) district every year, in the Municipio 3 area. Born as an ironic and affectionate tribute to the Sanremo Festival, but flipped from a different perspective: here there are no established big names, only emerging artists presenting unpublished songs, written and performed by those still seeking their space in Italian music.
The festival takes place at District 272, via Padova 272, a cultural space that has become a reference point for NoLo's creative life. The format is that of a true singing competition: two semi-finals and one final, with semi-finalists performing live in front of the audience. Each evening, the voting method is explained to the audience, because the spectator is not a mere observer but an active judge of the competition.
The path to the SanNoLo stage begins with live pre-selections called "Magari SanNoLo", hosted at BASE Milano: each evening features eight artists, two of whom gain direct access to the semi-finals. Applications are open to those who have reached the age of majority and propose a completely unpublished song, with a maximum duration of three and a half minutes.
SanNoLo is not just a competition: it is an ecosystem that supports artists beyond the final evening. The prizes are not limited to scholarships but include recording contracts, radio airplay, professional collaborations, and production and mentorship programs. A concrete opportunity for those who want to turn their passion into a serious musical project.
It is difficult to separate SanNoLo from its neighborhood: NoLo is one of Milan's most vibrant and transforming areas, a symbol of a city rediscovering proximity culture. The festival is a direct expression of this, an event that brings a curious and loyal audience to via Padova, capable of recognizing talent before it becomes famous.
The ninth edition of SanNoLo brings sixteen semi-finalists to the stage of District 272, selected also through the live pre-selections "Magari SanNoLo" hosted at BASE Milano. Three consecutive evenings, from March 19th to 21st, 2026, to discover the new voices of unpublished Italian song.
The two semi-finals on March 19th and 20th feature eight artists each; the best advance to the final on March 21st. The audience in the hall participates in the voting, according to methods explained each evening from the stage.
Among the announced semi-finalists are Helios, Quarto, Novella, Ellen, and La Carma, for a total of sixteen artists in competition.
