The popular and solidarity festival of the San Siro district
In the working-class district of San Siro, Milan (Municipality 7), the San Siro Street Festival transforms Piazzale Selinunte into a space for celebration and meeting for several days. The event is organized by the San Siro Residents' Committee, an organization active for years on the right to housing and the defence of the neighbourhood from decay and abandonment.
The programme is deliberately multidisciplinary and popular: concerts and musical evenings (from hip hop to classical music), open-air cinema, poetry slams with stages valid for the Italian championship, public debates, sports tournaments and activities, workshops for children, and community barbecues. Food stalls accompany the evenings, in a street party atmosphere accessible to all.
The distinctive feature of the festival is self-management: like all the Committee's activities, the event is self-financed and all initiatives are free to enter. More than a programme of shows, the San Siro Street Festival is the expression of a neighbourhood community telling its story, in one of the most densely populated and multicultural corners of the Metropolitan City of Milan.
The San Siro Street Festival returns in 2026 to liven up Piazzale Selinunte. The event, now in its numerous editions, is confirmed in the calendar of Municipality 7 of Milan and will offer the usual formula of a popular, solidarity, and free festival organized by the San Siro Residents' Committee.
Dates and detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organizers. According to the pattern of recent editions, the festival unfolds over several days with: concerts and musical evenings (from hip hop to classical), open-air cinema, poetry slams, public debates, sports tournaments and activities, workshops for children, community barbecues, and food stalls.
Programme to be updated.
