About San Pieri Festival

At the end of June, Terzo d'Aquileia celebrates its patron saint, Saint Peter, with the Sagra di San Pieri, one of the longest-running village festivals in the Bassa Friulana region. Dancing evenings with folk orchestras, skating performances, tombola (bingo), a photographic exhibition, and food stalls with Friulian specialities liven up the heart of the village for three days.

A tradition lasting half a century

The San Pieri Festival is the summer event for Terzo d'Aquileia, a town in the Bassa Friulana region in the province of Udine. Founded in the seventies, it celebrated its fiftieth edition in 2025: a milestone that speaks volumes about the bond between this festival and the community. It is the patronal feast dedicated to Saint Peter (San Pieri in Friulian), whose feast day falls on June 29th, and which has always attracted families, friends, and visitors from neighbouring towns on the last weekend of June.

Three days of music and community

The programme follows the classic format of major Friulian festivals, centred around a marquee and a dance floor. Dancing evenings are the heart of the festival, with folk orchestras alternating on stage. These are complemented by skating performances, the unmissable tombola (bingo), and a photographic exhibition retracing the history of the town and the festival itself. It's a celebration driven by social interaction, where multiple generations gather under the same marquee.

The cuisine of Bassa Friulana

The food stalls offer local specialities, accompanied by regional wines and beers. It's an opportunity to savour the authentic cuisine of the Bassa region in a convivial atmosphere, accessible to all, managed with the care typical of Friulian festival volunteers.

Where and when

The festival takes place in Terzo d'Aquileia, near the church of San Biagio, a short distance from Aquileia, Cervignano del Friuli, and the Grado lagoon. The event is traditionally held on the last weekend of June, coinciding with the patronal feast of Saint Peter.

San Pieri Festival — edition 2026

The San Pieri Festival returns on the last weekend of June 2026 in Terzo d'Aquileia to celebrate the patron saint Saint Peter, with dancing evenings, tombola, skating performances, and Friulian food stalls. The exact date will be confirmed by the organizers.

For 2026, the San Pieri Festival renews its appointment with the patronal feast of Terzo d'Aquileia, scheduled indicatively for the last weekend of June, close to the feast of Saint Peter (June 29th). The formula with folk music evenings, tombola, photographic exhibition, and Friulian cuisine is confirmed.
