Running in the heart of Venafro
The San Nicandro Trophy — City of Venafro is the running race that every year brings athletes and enthusiasts to run in the historic centre of Venafro, in the province of Isernia. Organised by ASD Atletica Venafro, the race is dedicated to San Nicandro, the city's patron saint, and is one of the most anticipated events in Molise's running calendar.
A technical and scenic circuit
The distance is 10 km, on a 3.333 km city circuit to be repeated three times, with sections on basalt and changes of direction through the historic centre: a technical and spectacular route, challenging but highly appreciated. The event's headquarters are in Corso Campano.
A popular sports festival
In addition to the competitive race, the Trophy includes a non-competitive run open to schools, prizes for the best athletes and the largest clubs, and the traditional final pasta party with awards. The race is part of the Corrimolise Intersport circuit, of which it is one of the stages, confirming Venafro's role in the regional running scene.

The XXIV edition of the San Nicandro Trophy — City of Venafro is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026, organised by ASD Atletica Venafro. The 10 km race is run on a technical 3.333 km city circuit to be repeated three times in the historic centre of Venafro, with basalt sections and changes of direction. It is the sixth stage of the Corrimolise Intersport circuit. The headquarters are in Corso Campano; the presentation takes place at the Palazzina Liberty.

- 4:30 PM — Registration opening and bib collection in Corso Campano
- 5:30 PM — Non-competitive race for schools (A. Giordano), one lap of the circuit
- 6:30 PM — Competitive race of 10 km (3 laps of 3.333 km)
- Following — Pasta party and awards ceremony
Prizes for the first 5 overall and the first 3 Italians per gender, category prizes, prizes for the most numerous clubs (20+ participants), and special awards for athletes from Campania and Venafro. Race pack with gadget and technical garment.
