The open-air electronic music festival in the pine forest of Rocca di Mezzo, on the night of San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo in Da Wood is an open-air electronic music festival that brings the Pineta Bassa of the Altopiano delle Rocche to life every August 10th in the municipality of Rocca di Mezzo, in the province of L'Aquila. Set at an altitude of over 1,300 meters within the Sirente Velino Regional Natural Park in Abruzzo, the event chooses the night of San Lorenzo to bridge club culture with the mountain air, amidst the scent of pine resin, a starry sky, and sounds ranging from house and techno to minimal.
Born in 2016 as a simple gathering designed to entertain local youth, San Lorenzo in Da Wood has grown year after year to become one of the most recognized electronic music destinations in Central Italy. The project is driven by the Re:main association (Re:main APS), an independent, volunteer-based organization that views the festival as a cultural platform capable of weaving together music, nature, and the local community.
The day is divided into two complementary moments. The Day Time Garden, which is free to enter, kicks off in the afternoon with a more experimental program dedicated to emerging artists, workshops, and labs, featuring ambient and ethereal house sounds. As evening falls, the Main Stage intensifies the rhythm towards a more physical club dimension, driven by hypnotic grooves and deep basslines that carry the audience through to the first light of dawn.
Beyond the music, the festival offers food & beverage areas, a chill zone to catch your breath between sets, merchandising spaces, and a shuttle service connecting major Abruzzo cities to the event site. The backdrop of the pine forest and the landscape of the Altopiano delle Rocche makes San Lorenzo in Da Wood an experience that goes beyond a simple concert: it is a summer ritual that unites electronic music enthusiasts in the discovery of one of the most evocative corners of the Abruzzo Apennines.
Held annually on the symbolic date of August 10th, the festival is now a classic of the summer in Rocca di Mezzo and the entire Altopiano delle Rocche, attracting visitors from all over Italy and promoting the Sirente Velino territory through high-quality music and meticulously curated programming.
The 2026 edition of San Lorenzo in Da Wood, the eleventh, takes place on Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Pineta Bassa of the Altopiano delle Rocche, in Rocca di Mezzo (AQ), with continuous hours from 3:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
The line-up brings together some of the most authoritative names in international electronic music: minimal techno pioneer Richie Hawtin and the queen of contemporary house The Blessed Madonna, joined by Francesco Del Garda, Marie Montexier, Giammarco Orsini, Iride, Ylenia Evangelista, and Fly Bambino. The afternoon kicks off with the free-entry Day Time Garden, dedicated to ambient and ethereal house sounds, while in the evening, the Main Stage pushes towards hypnotic rhythms and deep basslines until late at night.
The festival takes place in the Pineta Bassa of Rocca di Mezzo (AQ), along Via dei Prati Santi, on the Altopiano delle Rocche. By car, it can be reached via the A24/A25 motorway (exit L'Aquila Est or Bussi/Popoli), continuing towards the Altopiano delle Rocche. A bus shuttle service from major Abruzzo cities is available and can be booked online.
Entry to the Main Stage is ticketed, with tickets available on the Xceed platform and at official sales points; various tiers are available (Early Bird, Early Access, subsequent releases). The afternoon Day Time Garden is free to enter. Access is restricted to those aged 18 and over.
Being at high altitude, temperatures can drop in the evening: bringing a warm layer is recommended. Food & beverage areas, chill zones, and merchandising spaces are available on-site.
