The parade of allegorical floats in the heart of Val d'Alpone
The San Giovanni Ilarione Carnival is one of the most colorful festivals in the calendar of this municipality in the Val d'Alpone, in the province of Verona. On the afternoon dedicated to the festival, the town's streets fill with allegorical floats, traditional masks, and costumed children, accompanied by music and the enthusiasm of the community.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco San Giovanni Ilarione with a special focus on children: in addition to the grand parade, the festival offers food and wine stalls, face painting, and an inflatable slide in the main square, for an afternoon of fun accessible to all ages.
The Carnival represents one of the most cherished community events in the town, uniting different generations around the Venetian carnival tradition in the heart of the Veronese province.
The 2026 edition of the San Giovanni Ilarione Carnival was held on Sunday, February 15. From 2:00 PM, the grand parade of allegorical floats crossed the town's streets, amidst traditional masks and costumed children. In the main square, organized by the Pro Loco, food and wine stalls, face painting, and an inflatable slide entertained the afternoon for the little ones.
San Giovanni Ilarione (VR) is located in Val d'Alpone, reachable by car from San Bonifacio and from the Montebello Vicentino or Soave-San Bonifacio exit of the A4 motorway. The parade runs through the town center streets.
