Six days of patronal feast in the hamlet of Pampuro
The San Gaetano Festival is the patronal feast of the hamlet of Pampuro, in the Municipality of Sorgà (province of Verona). It takes place in August and represents the highlight of the summer for the small community of the Bassa Veronese, attracting visitors from all over the region for six days of music, shows, and good food.
For six evenings, the kitchens offer, starting from 7:30 PM, typical local traditional dishes: duck lasagna, meat and vegetable pies, tastasal risotto, roast duck leg, mixed grill, and mixed fried fish, accompanied by the best local wines. The evenings are often themed — from 70s-80s disco nights to motorcycle rallies, from 50s revival evenings with beard contests to live music with orchestras and bands.
Alongside the food stands and musical evenings, the festival offers free parking near the festival area, a funfair for children, an aperitif and cocktail area, and market stalls. Organized by Pro Loco Pampuro with the support of the Municipality of Sorgà, the San Gaetano festival is an example of the vitality of hamlet festivals in the province of Verona.
In 2026, the hamlet of Pampuro di Sorgà will once again host its San Gaetano Festival, with six evenings of food stands (kitchens open from 7:30 PM), themed musical evenings, a funfair, an aperitif area, and a market. The exact date (usually around August 7-12) will be confirmed by Pro Loco Pampuro closer to the event.
Detailed program coming soon: it will be announced by Pro Loco Pampuro in the weeks before the festival. Themed evenings (disco, motorcycle rally, 50s revival) and Veronese traditional dishes, with duck being the star.
