The San Fermo Fair is the patronal feast of Gorreto, a small village in the upper Val Trebbia, in the province of Genoa, bordering Piacenza. It is held in August and is one of the most important events of the year for the local community.

Between devotion and tradition

The day begins with the Holy Mass in the church of Santa Caterina da Siena, in honor of the patron saint. The religious dimension then blends with the festive one, with aperitifs in the piazza and gatherings that liven up the village.

The fair of typical products

The civil heart of the festival is the San Fermo Fair, with stalls of typical products from Val Trebbia: an opportunity to discover and purchase the gastronomic and artisanal specialties of the valley. Among the most characteristic attractions are the chainsaw sculptures created live by artist Fabio Pini, who transforms wood into works of art.
