The traditional early August fair in the village of the bagpipes
In Scapoli (province of Isernia), the summer festival calendar opens with the traditional San Donato Fair, held at the beginning of August, traditionally on August 6th and 7th. It is one of the village's annual events, linked to popular devotion to the saint.
The fair is a well-established event in Scapoli's tradition, documented among the town's festivals and fairs. It takes place during the village's most vibrant period, when summer draws residents, returning emigrants, and visitors to the upper Volturno valley.
International capital of the bagpipe, Scapoli preserves a rich calendar of religious fairs and festivals that mark the year. The San Donato Fair is one of the pieces in this heritage of traditions of inland Molise, in the province of Isernia.
In 2026 too, Scapoli renews the traditional San Donato Fair at the beginning of August. The event, traditionally set for August 6th and 7th, opens the village's summer festival calendar.
The definitive dates and program will be announced by the Municipality closer to the event.
