The Fair of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows is the second annual fair linked to the famous Sanctuary of Castelpetroso, a municipality in the province of Isernia. It takes place on the fourth Sunday of September, coinciding with the autumn recurrence of Our Lady of Sorrows, and complements the major spring event of the anniversary of the Apparitions on March 22nd.
Pilgrimage and Tradition
The day combines pilgrimage and religious celebrations at the Sanctuary with the traditional market stalls of the fair, a meeting point for the faithful and visitors who come to Castelpetroso from all over Molise. The Fair of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows will return on the fourth Sunday of September 2026, the second annual recurrence of the Sanctuary of Castelpetroso after the anniversary of the Apparitions in March.
