Over seventy years of wine, flavors, and music in San Cassiano di Livenza
San Cassiano di Livenza, a hamlet in the municipality of Brugnera in the province of Pordenone, is located right on the Livenza river, on the border between Friuli and Veneto. Here, for over seventy years, a grand festival has been celebrated in honor of wine: the Wine Festival, one of the oldest and most attended wine fairs in the area, where the wines produced by local farms are presented to the public.
The festival is famous for its culinary-themed evenings, which bring traditional Friulian and nearby Venetian dishes to the table: "muset col cren" (pork sausage with horseradish), "radici e fasioi con le frizze" (radishes and beans with cracklings), and the "tuttopesce" (all fish) evening on Good Friday. All accompanied by a selection of regional wines, in a journey of taste that tells the story of the encounter between two gastronomic cultures.
Under the covered and heated marquee, live music, shows, and dancing evenings alternate. Each year, the festival also features a creative market, an exhibition to showcase regional artists, fashion shows, non-competitive walks, and many other initiatives that liven up the weeks of the event.
Organized by Pro Loco Festa del Vino APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Brugnera, the San Cassiano Wine Festival is an event of identity that brings the community together and attracts visitors from all over western Friuli and eastern Veneto, in a festive atmosphere that lasts for weeks.
The 2026 edition, the 77th, of the San Cassiano di Livenza Wine Festival runs from March 27 to April 12 in Brugnera, organized by Pro Loco Festa del Vino APS with the patronage of the Municipality. The stars are the wines from local farms, presented to the public at the food and wine stalls.
The program alternates culinary-themed evenings featuring traditional Friulian and Venetian dishes, live music, shows, a creative market, art exhibitions, fashion shows, and non-competitive walks, all under the covered and heated marquee.
