The traditional February 3rd fair in the center of Magenta
The Saint Blaise Fair is one of Magenta's (Province of Milan) most traditional events. It is held every year on February 3rd, the day dedicated to Saint Blaise, a fixed date that makes it a cornerstone of the city's calendar. For an entire day, the streets of the town center fill with market stalls, in a large open-air market.
The fair extends over several streets in the center: Via San Biagio, Via Mazzini, Via Garibaldi, Via Lomeni, Via Don Milani, and Piazza Liberazione. Among the stalls, you can find everything from clothing to food products, in a lively atmosphere that combines market tradition with a village festival.
Saint Blaise is a popular festival deeply rooted in many Lombard communities, often linked to rituals and customs passed down through time. In Magenta, the fair is part of a celebratory period that, in the days around February 3rd, also offers cultural, musical, and religious events, making the occasion a moment of strong community cohesion.
The fair is organized by the Municipality of Magenta, which manages operator applications and stall assignments each year. Admission is free for visitors: just stroll through the streets of the center to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the most traditional winter days in Magenta.
The 2026 edition of the Saint Blaise Fair takes place on Tuesday, February 3rd, the fixed date of the celebration. Market stalls will be set up along Via San Biagio, Via Mazzini, Via Garibaldi, Via Lomeni, Via Don Milani, and Piazza Liberazione. Operator check-in is scheduled for 7:30 AM by the Local Police. The day is part of the celebratory period dedicated to Saint Blaise.
The fair runs throughout the day (approximate hours 8 AM - 7 PM) with market stalls in the town center streets. Operator applications must be submitted via PEC with digital signature by December 24th; provisional rankings on January 9th and final on January 20th. The single daily fee is payable by bank card or app. For the 2026 edition, restrictions on poultry apply as per Lombardy Region Decree 14740 of 10/21/2025 due to avian flu. In the days around February 3rd, cultural, musical, and religious events are also scheduled.
