The great patronal feast of Casalpusterlengo, one of the most important in the Lodi area
Casalpusterlengo, an important center in the Province of Lodi along the Via Emilia, celebrates its patron saint Saint Bartholomew with one of the most heartfelt and popular festivals in the area. The feast unfolds over a calendar of several weeks, around August 24th, the day dedicated to the saint, and involves the entire historic center, from Piazza del Popolo to Piazza della Repubblica, up to the historic Torre Pusterla.
The spiritual heart of the festival is the Solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop of Lodi, celebrated on the main Sunday of the feast. It is the moment when the community gathers around the figure of the patron saint, in a religious tradition that gives meaning and roots to the entire event.
Alongside the religious dimension, the festival offers a very rich program: the funfair that stays in town for days, bocce tournaments, numerous exhibitions (sacred art, painting, photography), evenings of ballroom dancing, a charity raffle, a shop window competition, vintage car exhibitions, and motorcycle rallies. DegustArte, a showcase of local wine, gastronomy, and art, with traditional sweets and specialties, is also featured.
As tradition dictates, the main day concludes with the fireworks display, which lights up the sky of Casalpusterlengo and draws a large crowd to the center. It is the symbolic image of a feast that combines faith, fun, taste, and culture, and represents one of the identity-defining events of the Province of Lodi.
The 2026 edition of the Saint Bartholomew Festival renews the great patronal feast of Casalpusterlengo, spread over several weeks between the second half of August and the first few days of September. The rich calendar of events includes a funfair, food stalls, exhibitions, tournaments, dances, and the traditional fireworks display. The detailed program will be published by the Municipality in the weeks leading up to the feast.
