Non-competitive walk and Saint Anthony's feast in Lomellina
The Saint Anthony's March is a non-competitive running event held in Zinasco Vecchio, a hamlet of the municipality of Zinasco, in the province of Pavia, in the heart of Lomellina. It takes place in the middle of winter, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot, patron saint of the hamlet, and attracts many walkers from all over the area each year.
The event, organized by Pro Loco Zinasco, offers three non-competitive routes of 7, 13, and 19 km through the countryside and villages of the plain. But the march is also famous for its gastronomic tradition: volunteers prepare thousands of cotechini (pork sausages) according to the traditional recipe, accompanied by typical Lomellina products offered at the market.
It is an event that combines outdoor sports, popular devotion, and regional cuisine, in one of the most characteristic areas of the Pavia province.
The 48th edition of the Saint Anthony's March was held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Zinasco Vecchio. The non-competitive walk, organized by Pro Loco Zinasco, offered the usual three routes of 7, 13, and 19 km in the Lomellina plain. The gastronomic tradition was confirmed with the cotechini prepared by volunteers and the market of typical products, coinciding with the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot, patron saint of the hamlet.
