About Bruschetta Festival

The Carbonara Autumn is the festival that enlivens Carbonara al Ticino every October, in the Pavia countryside just a stone's throw from the Ticino Park. At the heart of the event is the Bruschetta Festival, now in its nineteenth edition: a long weekend dedicated to traditional flavours, with polenta served under the marquee, bruschetta, chestnuts, and mulled wine. Organized by the Pro Loco Carbonarese, the festival combines gastronomy, folklore, and community moments: the photographic exhibition, the blessing of cars, the Over 40 football match, the mega tombola, and the charity lottery draw. A genuine village festival, where neighbours gather to greet autumn.

Autumn in Carbonara al Ticino

In the Pavia plain, along the Ticino river, the Municipality of Carbonara al Ticino (Province of Pavia) celebrates the arrival of autumn with its most cherished festival. The Carbonara Autumn, with the Bruschetta Festival now in its 19th edition, is a recurring event that intertwines gastronomy, traditions, and folklore, enlivening the village centre for several days.

Flavours of Tradition

The star is the bruschetta, simple and generous, accompanied by the typical autumn dishes of the Pavia region: polenta served under the heated marquee, chestnuts with mulled wine, and traditional cakes and desserts. The food stalls, managed by volunteers from the Pro Loco Carbonarese, offer a menu that showcases the local peasant cuisine.

Folklore and Community

Beyond the food, the festival is made up of village events: the blessing of cars in front of the church, the Over 40 football match, the photographic exhibition, the parish charity stall, and the evening mega tombola. There is also a charity lottery, the proceeds of which support community activities. It is a festival that focuses on conviviality, in the true spirit of the Bassa Lombarda region.

A Festival in the Ticino Park

Carbonara al Ticino is located within the Lombardo Park of the Ticino Valley, in an area of fields, irrigation channels, and riverside woods. The Bruschetta Festival is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the province of Pavia, far from the usual tourist routes, where village traditions are passed down from year to year thanks to the work of local associations.
