Busnago and its Patron Saint

The Saint Anne's Festival is the patronal festival of Busnago, a municipality in the province of Monza and Brianza located at the eastern end of the territory, bordering the province of Bergamo. The celebration, dedicated to Saint Anne, falls on July 26th and is one of the most cherished moments of the Busnago summer.

Between Faith and Tradition

The festival is organised by the parish together with the Municipality and spans several days, alternating liturgical celebrations in honour of the saint with popular events. Among the most traditional moments are the veterans' football match, which opens the festivities, and the fireworks display, which marks the climax.

A Festival for Everyone

The programme also includes outdoor cinema, a book market, dinners in the oratory, performances by flag-wavers and drummers, and collaborations with the Alpini Group and friends of the oratory. Saint Anne's Festival thus becomes an occasion for families, children, and the elderly to gather, blending the religious dimension with conviviality and strengthening the bonds of the Brianza community.

Busnago, the Eastern Gateway to Brianza

Busnago is located at the eastern end of the province of Monza and Brianza, close to the border with the Bergamo area, in a region that has managed to preserve its traditions despite its proximity to the major development axes of the plain. The Festa di Sant'Anna is the main event of the town's summer and showcases, year after year, the same happy blend of the sacred and the secular that characterises Lombardy's patronal festivals: devotion to the saint and liturgical celebrations on one hand, popular events such as the veterans' match, outdoor cinema, and fireworks on the other. The involvement of the Alpini Group and friends of the oratory testifies to the vitality of local volunteering.
