The patronal feast of San Zeno with street food, local market, and fireworks on Isola Borromeo
The Village Festival is the patronal feast of Cassano d'Adda, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Milan located along the Adda River, bordering the Province of Bergamo. The patron saint, San Zeno, is celebrated on the first weekend of October, and around this date, the town organizes several days of festivities that combine religious observance with a rich program of popular events.
The festival runs from Friday evening to Sunday, with a varied program. Among the most anticipated events are: ADDaENTAMI street food, bringing street flavors to town; the local market with stalls and stands; and especially the fireworks on Sunday evening on Isola Borromeo, the picturesque islet on the Adda River that provides a spectacular backdrop for the festival's closing.
A special place is reserved for the little ones with the children's festival in Piazza Perrucchetti, featuring games, entertainment, and activities designed for families. The Village Festival thus becomes a moment of engagement for all generations, from the youngest to the oldest.
Promoted by the Municipality with the contribution of local associations, the Village Festival is an event of identity for Cassano d'Adda. Between devotion to San Zeno, the flavors of street food, and the magic of the fireworks on Isola Borromeo, the event celebrates the town's deep connection with its river and its traditions, in the heart of the plain east of Milan.
The 2026 edition of the Village Festival takes place in Cassano d'Adda on the first weekend of October, for the patron saint's feast day of San Zeno. From Friday evening to Sunday, the program alternates ADDaENTAMI street food, the local market with stalls and stands, the children's festival in Piazza Perrucchetti, and the concluding fireworks on Isola Borromeo.
The detailed 2026 program, with precise dates and times, will be published by the Municipality of Cassano d'Adda in the weeks preceding the event (also in PDF/poster format). Based on recent editions, the festival includes:
