A village festival in the Trieste Karst
The Šagra v Hribenci is the summer festival of the small Slovenian community of Moccò (in Slovenian Socerb), a hamlet of Sant'Antonio in Bosco, in the municipality of San Dorligo della Valle. It is organized by the Slovenec cultural club, which every year transforms Hribenca Park into a meeting point for the village and visitors, amidst the green of the Karst woods.
Food, wine, and conviviality
The food and wine stalls are well-stocked and offer grilled specialties, the unmissable ćevapčići, wine, and beer. It's the genuine, popular cuisine of the festivals of the Trieste Karst, to be enjoyed at the outdoor tables in the park, in a convivial and family atmosphere.
Music and border tradition
The evenings are enlivened by concerts and live bands, folk groups, and musical ensembles, in a program that blends Slovenian tradition with more modern sounds. A bilingual event, Italian and Slovenian, reflecting the border identity of this corner of the province of Trieste.
The Grubla Trail in the Karst woods
From 2025, the festival will be enhanced by a sporting event: the Grubla Trail, a mountain running race winding through the Karst woods of the Castellieri, with start and finish in Hribenca Park. An additional opportunity to experience the Karst landscape, amidst nature, sport, and village festivities.
Šagra v Hribenci — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Šagra v Hribenci will liven up Hribenca Park in Moccò from June 5 to 7. The festival, organized by the Slovenec cultural club, offers its food and wine stalls with grill, ćevapčići, wine, and beer, accompanied by concerts and musical evenings.
Among the events, the second edition of the Grubla Trail (Trail dei Castellieri), a mountain running race with start and finish in the park, scheduled for June 6.
Programme Šagra v Hribenci 2026
The Šagra v Hribenci unfolds over three days in Hribenca Park, with food and wine stalls open in the evenings. Based on previous editions, the program includes:
- Friday, June 5: Opening of the festival with stalls (from the evening), concert, and dancing with a live band.
- Saturday, June 6: Grubla Trail, mountain running race through the woods of the Castellieri with start and finish at the park; in the evening, stalls, folk groups, and concerts.
- Sunday, June 7: Closing day with stalls, music, and dancing.
The detailed musical program and times will be announced by the Slovenec cultural club in the weeks preceding the event.

How to get there: Moccò/Sant'Antonio in Bosco is a hamlet of San Dorligo della Valle, reachable by car from Trieste towards the Karst. Hribenca Park is the heart of the event.
