Bancole's Summer Festival

The Sagra di Santa Maddalena, popularly called Bancole in Festa, is the parish festival of Bancole, a hamlet of Porto Mantovano in the first belt of Mantua. Dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene, whose feast day is July 22nd, it is one of the most eagerly awaited summer events by the community, managing to combine religious, sporting, and convivial dimensions.

Food and Live Music

The heart of the festival lies in its food stalls, offering local traditional dishes alongside regional and ethnic options, with vegetarian and vegan choices. Among the most popular events is the "Cena sotto le stelle" (Dinner under the stars), a special evening dedicated to fine dining. Every evening, the festival is enlivened by live music, creating an atmosphere that attracts families and young people from all over Porto Mantovano.

Sports and Palio delle Contrade

The festival has a strong sporting focus: during the event, beach volleyball and basketball tournaments are held, open to participants aged 16 and over, with the finals being a major highlight. However, the most keenly felt moment is the Palio delle Contrade, where the hamlets' districts compete in a fun and exciting challenge, a true symbol of Bancole's community identity.

Organized by the Unità Pastorale Giovanni Bono (Giovanni Bono Pastoral Unit), the Sagra di Santa Maddalena has a charitable purpose: the proceeds support the parish's activities.
