The Alpini festival under the stars

Every summer the Alpini Group of Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona, organizes its Summer Festival at the Alpini Hut in Parco Ichenhausen. It is one of the most cherished village festivals in the Valeggio calendar: for about ten days, between late July and early August, the hut transforms into a large outdoor meeting point.

Tortellini, barbecue, and ballroom dancing

The heart of the festival is the food and wine stall, which opens every evening around 7:30 PM. On the table, you'll find the tortellini of Valeggio, the pride of the region, also offered in a ricotta and spinach version, along with grilled meats and dishes from Veronese cuisine. Takeaway is also available, bringing your own containers. Every evening is enlivened by dance music orchestras and ballroom music, with the dance floor remaining the star until late at night.

A community celebration

More than just a sagra (local festival), the Festa Estiva degli Alpini is a moment for the community: the proceeds support the solidarity activities of the Alpini Group of Valeggio sul Mincio, true to the service spirit of the 'penne nere' (black feathers, referring to the Alpini's distinctive hat). It's an opportunity to gather outdoors, amidst the morainic hills of the Mincio, a few kilometers from Lake Garda.
