Over two centuries of tradition centered around the Madonna del Rosario
The Sagra di Inzago, in the Municipality of Inzago in the province of Milan, has its roots in devotion to the Madonna del Rosario and a fair tradition dating back before 1803. With over two hundred editions to its name, it is one of the oldest and most established patron saint festivals in the Milan metropolitan area: a heritage that the town proudly preserves and renews each year.
The festival traditionally takes place on the second Sunday of October, as part of a broader program spread over several days. The most solemn moment is the procession with the statue of the Madonna del Rosario and Child, which winds through the streets of the historic center accompanied by the community: it is the religious and identity core of the entire event.
Alongside the devotional dimension, the Sagra di Inzago offers a rich calendar of initiatives: live music, shows, exhibitions, cultural events, and moments of popular tradition. Among the most beloved curiosities is the famous "ox weighing" game, which recalls the ancient fair and peasant soul of the festival. The event involves the entire town, from associations to schools, animating squares and streets with stands and activities for all ages.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Inzago, part of the UNPLI Lombardia network, which curates the program and coordinates the numerous activities each year. For Inzago, the sagra is much more than a festival: it is the moment when the community comes together around its roots, between faith, tradition, and sociality, in one of the most cherished events on the Lombard calendar.
The 222nd edition of the Sagra di Inzago takes place in October 2026, with the main events concentrated around the second Sunday of the month, October 11th. The program, curated by the Pro Loco of Inzago, alternates music, shows, exhibitions, popular culture, and tradition, keeping the religious dimension linked to the Madonna del Rosario at its center.
The complete program is published by the Pro Loco of Inzago in the weeks preceding the sagra.
