The potato that tells the story of the mountains

In the municipality of Monno, perched at over a thousand meters in the upper Valle Camonica, in the Province of Brescia, a special potato is grown: the Monno potato, a typical product cultivated on mountain terraces and recognized as one of Lombardy's Traditional Agri-food Products (PAT). Every autumn, the village dedicates its most beloved sagra to this tuber.

A whole day in the square

The Sagra della Patata takes place in Piazza IV Novembre, usually on the first Saturday of October, starting in the afternoon. The day blends gastronomy and entertainment: magic shows for the little ones, free tastings of local typical products, and live music that accompanies the festivities into the evening. An opportunity to discover the flavors of the upper valley in a festive atmosphere.

The Monno potato is just the starting point for exploring the gastronomic richness of Valle Camonica, a land of high-altitude products and ancient rural traditions. The sagra highlights the connection between the community and its territory, in a village that makes mountain cultivation a mark of its identity.

A free festival for everyone

Organized by Pro Loco Monno-Mortirolo, the Sagra della Patata is entirely free, also thanks to contributions for the promotion of the territory. It is the festival that best represents the spirit of Monno: simple, genuine, and deeply connected to the Camonica mountains.
