Four autumn days of taste, murals, and medieval reenactment in the Bassa bergamasca
In Covo, a municipality in the Bassa bergamasca known as the "town of murals," the 'raviolo nostrano' is not just a simple dish: it's a symbol of identity. The Sagra del Raviolo Nostrano, now in its 38th edition in 2025, is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of autumn in the province of Bergamo. The ravioli are a De.Co. (Denominazione Comunale - Municipal Designation) product, prepared according to a recipe passed down from generation to generation, and are served at the Oratorio San Tarcisio on Via al Castello.
The festival is much more than a feast for the palate. The cultural heart is the medieval reenactment "Medioevo Covese" (Medieval Covo), linked to the figure of Bartolomeo Colleoni, the famous condottiero who had strong ties to the area. Traveling shows, a medieval village, and historical parades animate the town center, transforming Covo into a village of yesteryear. Completing the program are guided tours of the famous murals, the historic center, and the small church of Santa Lucia.
Organized by the Pro Loco Covo along with the Municipality and volunteer associations, the festival is a collective event. Alongside the food stalls, there is a funfair, a market, and to conclude the festivities, an evening fireworks display. A mix of flavors, history, and social interaction makes Covo one of the must-visit autumn destinations in the Orobic plain.
The Sagra del Raviolo di Covo is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Bassa bergamasca, with its street art (the murals), certified gastronomic tradition, and historical reenactment. A complete experience that combines taste and culture.
After the 38th edition in October 2025, the Pro Loco Covo is preparing the 39th Sagra del Raviolo Nostrano, expected in October 2026. The precise dates are usually announced by the organizers in the preceding months. Based on recent editions, the festival will span several days with the tasting of 'raviolo nostrano' De.Co. at the Oratorio San Tarcisio, the reenactment of Medieval Covo, guided tours of the murals and historic center, the funfair, and the concluding fireworks display.
The detailed program and dates for the 2026 edition (39th) will be published by Pro Loco Covo in the months prior. Based on the established structure of the festival, the program includes:
