Among the most deeply rooted events of the summer in Romano di Lombardia, in the province of Bergamo, the Sagra di San Rocco takes place around the Sanctuary of San Rocco, at Via San Rocco 32. A week of celebration

For several days, around Ferragosto (August 15th), the sanctuary's square transforms into a large meeting point. Food stalls offer traditional Lombard dishes and accompany evenings of music and socializing. Among the most anticipated moments of the traditional calendar are the maxi 'tombolone' on the evening of August 15th and the fireworks display, which lights up the Romano sky, attracting a large audience.

Devotion and community

The sagra originated around the figure of San Rocco (Saint Roch), invoked as a protector against epidemics and highly revered in Lombard popular culture. The festival is organized by the Organizing Committee for the Festa di San Rocco, which involves volunteers and local organizations every year.
