The summer festival of handmade gnocchi in the village of Lapedona
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Sagra degli Gnocchi is the gastronomic event symbolising Lapedona, a small municipality in the Province of Fermo perched on the rolling hills of Marche, a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast. Organised by the Pro Loco of Lapedona (local tourism board) in collaboration with the Municipal Administration, it is considered the first sagra dedicated to gnocchi in the Marche region and attracts numerous visitors from all over the Fermo area every July.
The heart of the festival is, of course, the handmade gnocchi, prepared according to the village's traditional recipe using local ingredients and artisanally crafted pasta. They are served in numerous variations that change from year to year, including:
Accompanying the main course are rustic side dishes, grilled meats, local cured meats and cheeses, homemade desserts, and wine from the Marche hills, in a simple yet authentic menu rich in flavour.
The sagra is not just about good food: the programme includes live music, with concerts by local bands and performances ranging from Marche folklore to light music, as well as evenings with DJ sets. Games and workshops are organised for the little ones, while the entire village participates by setting up outdoor tables in the streets and squares of the historic centre.
The Sagra degli Gnocchi is also the perfect opportunity to visit Lapedona, an ancient medieval village that preserves its walls, gates, and panoramic views over the Aso Valley and the Sibillini Mountains. The event takes place in the heart of the town, around Piazza Giacomo Leopardi, and offers visitors a complete immersion in the hospitality and traditions of the Lapedona community. A genuine festival, where conviviality and home cooking remain the true ingredients of its success.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra degli Gnocchi is announced for July 19 and 20 in Lapedona (Province of Fermo, Marche), in the traditional setting of the historic centre. This would be the 39th edition of the event organised by the Pro Loco of Lapedona.
As per tradition, the stars will be the handmade gnocchi, served in numerous variations accompanied by typical local products, wines from the Marche hills, and evenings of music and entertainment. The detailed programme has not yet been published by the organisers, and the dates are to be confirmed: it is advisable to check for updates with the Pro Loco of Lapedona before travelling.
The sagra is held in the historic centre of Lapedona (FM), with tables set up around Piazza Giacomo Leopardi.
By car: from the A14 motorway, take the Pedaso exit, then the Valdaso dual carriageway towards the interior and municipal roads towards Lapedona (about 15 km from the coast). By train: Pedaso station on the Adriatic line, then bus connections to the hinterland.
Admission to the festival area is free; food and drinks are paid for at the stands, with popular prices typical of village festivals.
Evenings can be crowded: it's advisable to arrive early to find a seat at the tables. It is recommended to check the updated dates and programme by contacting the Pro Loco of Lapedona.
