Three days of flavours, folklore, and traditions from the Pro Loco associations of Italy on the Porto San Giorgio seafront
Pro Loco in Festa is one of the most beloved summer events in Porto San Giorgio, a seaside town in the Province of Fermo, in the Marche region. Established in the early 2000s and organized by the local Pro Loco association, the event transforms the Antonio Gramsci seafront into a large village of taste and traditions for three days, attracting thousands of visitors to the Fermo Riviera.
The heart of the event is the food stalls: dozens of Pro Loco associations from various Italian regions come to showcase their specialties, from Marche flavours to those from the North and South, offering a gastronomic journey along the seaside. Alongside local Marche associations, committees and Pro Loco from numerous other regions participate, with some editions even featuring international delegations, demonstrating the spirit of hospitality and exchange that animates the festival.
Pro Loco in Festa is much more than just a food festival. Throughout the three evenings, the program features historical reenactments, parades by folk groups, children's entertainment, craft exhibitions, live music, and shows. The event traditionally concludes with a fireworks display over the sea, marking the end of the festival with a celebratory flourish.
Among the most popular offerings are traditional Adriatic dishes, such as spaghetti de li marinร , clams in broth, fried calamari, and fried anchovies, alongside the specialties that each Pro Loco association brings from its own territory. Admission to the event is free, making it a perfect opportunity for an evening out with family or friends.
Set on the seafront of Porto San Giorgio, one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Marche coast, Pro Loco in Festa combines a seaside holiday with the discovery of Italian popular traditions. It's an event that highlights the role of Pro Loco associations as guardians of local culture and reaffirms the deep connection between the city and its coastal identity each year.
The 24th edition of Pro Loco in Festa will take place from July 3 to 5, 2026, on the seafront of Porto San Giorgio, maintaining the traditional early July date. For 2026, the seafront will once again host food stalls from Pro Loco associations from various Italian regions, featuring typical flavours, crafts, historical reenactments, folk groups, and evening entertainment. Admission is free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including evening schedules, musical guests, and the list of participating Pro Loco associations, will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event by the Pro Loco of Porto San Giorgio on their official channels.
