The patronal festival of Montegrotto Terme in honour of Saint Peter the Apostle
The Sagra de San Piero is the patronal festival of Montegrotto Terme, a spa town in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padova, dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle, the town's patron saint, celebrated on June 29th. It is the community's most cherished event, spread over two consecutive weekends at the end of June.
The heart of the sagra are the food stalls, open from the evening, offering traditional dishes and local flavours. Along Viale Stazione and Via Claudiana, an artisan market unfolds, while evenings of music, dancing, and games liven up the squares. The festival also features a charity raffle and entertainment for all ages.
The traditional fireworks display, eagerly awaited by young and old, concludes the celebrations, illuminating the sky of the spa town on the final evening. The Sagra de San Piero is organised by the Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle in collaboration with the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme.
More than just an event, the Sagra de San Piero is a moment of collective identity: it combines the religious dimension of the patronal festival with the conviviality of a village fair, in a town known throughout Europe for its thermalism and the natural setting of the Euganean Hills.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra de San Piero will take place at the end of June, over two consecutive weekends, around the patron saint Peter's day (June 29th) in Montegrotto Terme.
