The patronal sagra of Faedo, between Euganean Hills flavours and poetry
Among the gentle slopes of the Euganean Hills, the hamlet of Faedo, in Cinto Euganeo (Padua province), annually celebrates its patron saint San Pietro (whose feast day is June 29th) with a sagra traditionally held on the last weekends of June. Organised by the Comitato Sagra di Faedo, the festival is founded on friendship and conviviality, values that have always animated this small hilly community.
The food stand is the heart of the event, offering typical dishes of Euganean Hills cuisine, accompanied by excellent local wines. Among the specialities documented in recent editions: gnocchi and bigoli, musso (donkey meat, a Venetian tradition), grilled salami with pancetta, cold dishes, and assorted desserts. Authentic cuisine that tells the gastronomic identity of the Padua and Veneto regions.
The Festa di San Pietro is not just about food. The programme includes a Poetry Review and the traditional Painting Exhibition, both open to all interested parties. A rare combination of a village sagra and cultural moments, making Faedo a festival with a dual soul, popular and refined at the same time.
For the small hamlet of Faedo, the patronal sagra is the time of year when the village comes together and welcomes visitors to the Euganean Hills. An authentic festival, far from large crowds, which preserves the convivial spirit of Veneto's village festivals, immersed in the hilly landscape of the Euganean Hills Regional Park.
The Festa di San Pietro a Faedo will return on the last weekends of June 2026, approximately in the June 20-28 window, continuing the annual tradition of the patronal sagra. The food stand will again offer typical Euganean Hills dishes and excellent local wines, accompanied by the Poetry Review and the traditional Painting Exhibition.
Currently, the Comitato Sagra di Faedo has not yet published the official dates and detailed schedule for the 2026 edition: they will be announced on the hamlet's website in the weeks preceding the event.
