Ten evenings of authentic flavours at the oratory of the hamlet of Lucino
A few kilometres from Milan, in the hamlet of Lucino in Rodano (Metropolitan City of Milan, Lombardy), the parish oratory becomes the centre of a village festival that has stood the test of time for ten evenings. The Sagra d'Estate is organised by the Parish of San Giovanni Evangelista of Lucino, within the Pastoral Unit of Rodano, and keeps alive a tradition of conviviality that spans generations.
The real draw of the Sagra is its hearty and traditional cuisine. The signature dish is braised donkey with polenta, a recipe from the Lombard peasant tradition, served alongside tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and other seasonal specialities. The oratory's kitchen offers generous portions at popular prices, in the spirit of festivals that focus on authenticity rather than appearance.
Every evening, starting from 7:00 PM, the food stand welcomes visitors in a covered area with about 250 seats. From 9:00 PM, the festival continues with dancing evenings animated by the orchestra, the lucky dip wheel is a must, and to finish on a sweet note, crêpes. It's the typical atmosphere of countryside festivals in the Milan area, where neighbours get together and dance until the evening.
Spread over three weekends, the Sagra d'Estate in Lucino is much more than a gastronomic event: it is a moment of aggregation for the community of Rodano and neighbouring villages, and an opportunity for those coming from Milan to discover a corner of the Lombard countryside and its culinary traditions.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra d'Estate di Lucino spans ten evenings between May 29 and June 7, spread over three consecutive weekends. The oratory's kitchen opens every evening from 7:00 PM, with about 250 covered seats, while from 9:00 PM the orchestra kicks off the dancing evenings.
The stars of the table are the braised donkey with polenta and the tagliatelle with wild boar ragù, alongside the lucky dip wheel and crêpes to end the evening.
