Sagne Festival

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Vallinfreda celebrated the 30th edition of its Sagne Festival. The event, traditionally set for the last Sunday of October, was initially scheduled for October 26, but the Pro Loco decided to postpone it by two weeks due to particularly adverse weather forecasts, to ensure a day of outdoor celebration in the best possible conditions.

The day began at 8:00 AM with an optional 12.2-kilometer loop hike on the mountains surrounding the village. Starting at 12:00 PM, in Piazza del Mercato, the food stalls served sagne handmade by the women of Vallinfreda, dressed with the classic tomato and garlic sauce of the traditional recipe, along with sandwiches with local sausage and broccoli rabe and wine. The meal cost 15 euros per person, with reservations recommended. An important milestone, that of thirty editions, for one of the most identity-defining festivals of this mountain village in the province of Rome, in Lazio.
