The Hamlet's Carnival
The Rosegaferro Carnival is the carnival celebration of the small hamlet of Rosegaferro, in the municipality of Villafranca di Verona. Unlike the large evening parade in the main town of Villafranca, here Carnival has the intimate and familiar character of a village festival: a morning parade of masks and floats that starts from the sports facilities and winds through the hamlet.
Masks, Floats, and Gnocchi in the Square
The heart of the day is the final convivial moment: after the parade, volunteers from Gruppo il Sasso, a historic association in Rosegaferro, distribute gnocchi in the square to all participants, following the tradition of the Veronese Carnival. A simple and genuine celebration that keeps the hamlet's identity alive and involves families and children.
A Villafranca Tradition
The Gruppo il Sasso, active all year round with its events in Rosegaferro, enlivens this occasion, which is part of the Carnival calendar of the Municipality of Villafranca di Verona, in the plain southwest of the 'scaligero' capital.
Rosegaferro Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Rosegaferro Carnival took place on Sunday, March 8. The parade of masks and floats started at 10:30 AM from the sports facilities of the Villafranca di Verona hamlet, crossing the village in a festive family atmosphere. Afterwards, as tradition dictates, volunteers from Gruppo il Sasso distributed gnocchi in the square to all participants.

How to get there
Rosegaferro is a hamlet of Villafranca di Verona, reachable in a few minutes from the town center. By car: A4 (Sommacampagna exit) or A22. The parade starts from the hamlet's sports facilities.
