The Rome Whisky Festival & Brown Spirits is the benchmark event in Italy for lovers of whisky and brown spirits. The festival takes place in the EUR district, at the elegant Salone delle Fontane—one of the most evocative exhibition spaces in the capital—transforming the city of Rome into the Italian hub for high-end spirits for an entire weekend. Now in its fourteenth edition, the event attracts thousands of visitors every year, including enthusiasts, industry professionals, bartenders, and curious newcomers.
A world of labels to discover
The festival offers a tasting journey through over 60 exhibitors and more than 1,000 labels from all over the world: Scotland, Ireland, Japan, the United States, and emerging distilleries all share the same tasting tables. Alongside whisky, ample space is dedicated to brown spirits—brandy, cognac, armagnac, and rum—which complete the selection and showcase the world of barrel-aged spirits.

- Vintage Area: reserved for collectors, featuring rare 20th-century bottlings and expressions from legendary distilleries.
- Mixology Area: curated by ORO Whisky Bar, featuring an exclusive drink list designed specifically for the festival.
- Brown Spirits: the zone dedicated to brandy, cognac, armagnac, and rum, with a special focus on the latter.
- ABC Course: mini-lessons for those approaching the world of whisky for the first time.
Masterclasses and the Whisky & Lode Award
The program includes over 20 masterclasses led by international ambassadors, distillers, and independent bottlers, providing true moments of cultural insight into the world of spirits. During the two days, the Whisky & Lode award is also presented, selecting the best bottles through blind tastings in four categories: Best Scotch Whisky, Best Cask Strength, Best World Whisky, and Best American Whiskey.

Organized by Maestri del Cocktail, the Rome Whisky Festival & Brown Spirits is now a permanent fixture in the food and wine calendar of the Lazio region and the entire peninsula. The fourteenth edition of the Rome Whisky Festival & Brown Spirits brought the Salone delle Fontane in the EUR district to life on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The formula that made the event famous was confirmed: over 60 exhibitors, more than 1,000 labels, over 20 masterclasses, and the Vintage, Mixology, and Brown Spirits areas.

Alongside the masterclasses, visitors were able to explore the Vintage area with 20th-century bottlings, the Mixology area curated by ORO Whisky Bar, the ABC course for beginners, and the Brown Spirits zone dedicated to brandy, cognac, armagnac, and rum.

How to get there
The Salone delle Fontane is located on Via Ciro il Grande, in the EUR district of Rome. The area is easily accessible by metro (Line B, EUR Magliana or EUR Palasport stops) and numerous bus lines. For those arriving by car, parking is available nearby.
Tickets
Admission is ticketed and includes the official Glencairn glass for tastings. Tickets are available for purchase online via the Clappit platform and, subject to availability, on-site. Tastings operate on a token system available at the box office; masterclasses and the ABC course have dedicated fees.
Tips
We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to avoid queues and ensure participation in the masterclasses, which often sell out.
