About Rome International Art Fair

The Rome International Art Fair is an international contemporary art exhibition organized by ITSLIQUID Group within the walls of Palazzo Velli, a historic 15th-century residence in the heart of Rome's Trastevere district. Marking its 18th edition in July 2026, the event brings together artists from around the globe to explore the relationship between body and space, featuring photography, painting, video art, sculpture, installations, and performances curated by Luca Curci. Admission is free upon registration.

An international art fair in the heart of Rome

The Rome International Art Fair is a well-established fixture on the Roman art scene, promoted by the curatorial collective ITSLIQUID Group. Held in Rome, in the Lazio region, the event transforms the historic halls of Palazzo Velli into a showcase for international contemporary art for several days. Each edition fosters a dialogue between artists from all over the world, with a program spanning photography, painting, video art, sculpture, installations, and live performance.

Palazzo Velli, a 15th-century residence in Trastevere

The fair is hosted at the ITSLIQUID Art Space - Trastevere, located inside Palazzo Velli on Piazza di S. Egidio in the Trastevere district. Built in the 15th century by the noble Velli family, the building retains many of its original features, including the spacious courtyard, the family crest-adorned portals, and the external staircase. Restored in the early 1970s, the palace's halls were returned to their original state, revealing key architectural elements and a historic fresco. Its location is prime, just a short walk from the city's main attractions: the Imperial Forums, the Colosseum, and St. Peter's Basilica are all within a couple of kilometers.

Body and space: the theme of the exhibition

The exhibition explores the relationship between body and space and the ongoing hybridization between identity and contemporary physical, social, and urban contexts. The show is divided into two main sections: Mixing Identities, which delves into the hidden dimensions of identity and views the human body as an evolving communication system, and Future Landscapes, which ventures into abstract and conceptual spaces where physical boundaries dissolve into a fluid stream of open ideas. The artistic direction is led by Luca Curci, supported by a curatorial team that guides artists through every stage of the project.
