An entire city in harmony: seven days of free music across Rome's 15 districts
RIM - Rome In Music is the major new musical event promoted by Roma Capitale through the Department of Culture. The first edition takes place from June 7 to 13, 2026, with a clear ambition: to capture the variety of musical experiences present in the city, from big names in songwriting to neighborhood bands, and from music schools to amateur musicians. The artistic direction is entrusted to the Roman singer-songwriter Daniele Silvestri.
The hallmark of RIM is its distributed nature: music is not confined to a single location but reaches all 15 districts of Rome, bringing concerts, performances, and meetings to the squares and parks of every neighborhood. The goal is to bring music closer to people in their daily spaces, highlighting local realities, associations, and schools within the Rome municipality, in the Lazio region.
The festival kicks off on Sunday, June 7 with a grand musical parade from Piazza Mastai to Piazza Navona, bringing together musicians, students, and citizens from all districts, accompanied by Roman marching bands Samba Precario, Cecafumo, and Altrabanda. From June 7 to 12, Piazza Navona becomes the beating heart of the festival, with a space dedicated to encounters and discussions: live radio broadcasts, playlists, book presentations, and talks hosted by Daniele Silvestri himself, featuring special guests.
Expected guests at the Piazza Navona events include Sergio Cammariere (June 8), Tosca (June 9), Stefano Fresi (June 10), and Max Gazzรจ (June 11). The grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at Parco Schuster (Basilica of Saint Paul), with a massive jam session celebrating the collective and participatory nature of music, bringing professional artists, emerging talents, and local groups together on stage.
All RIM events are free and open to the public. More than just a series of concerts, Rome In Music is intended as a choral cultural project where professionals, amateurs, schools, and associations share the same city-wide stage. A week to rediscover Rome through the sounds of its neighborhoods and to affirm the idea of a city that plays together as one.
The first edition of RIM - Rome In Music took place from June 7 to 13, 2026, promoted by Roma Capitale under the artistic direction of Daniele Silvestri. A week of free concerts, parades, talks, and meetings spread across all 15 districts, with Piazza Navona serving as the beating heart of the event.
These main events were complemented by a widespread program of concerts and performances in the squares and parks of all 15 districts, featuring music schools, associations, emerging talents, and amateur musicians.
The heart of the festival is Piazza Navona, in Rome's historic center, reachable on foot from the metro stations (Line A, Spagna or Barberini stops) and numerous bus lines. Events take place in all 15 districts: we recommend checking the official channels for the specific location of each event.
All events are free to attend, with no reservation required unless otherwise stated.
