A community concert

Roma 70 Live is much more than just a night of music: it is a concert for the entire neighborhood community. Every year, during the first week of October, the loading and unloading area of the Grottaperfetta Market on Viale Erminio Spalla turns into an open-air stage featuring emerging bands and artists from the Roman music scene. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a street festival: live music, food stalls, booths, and plenty of locals gathering until late in the evening.

A neighborhood that doesn't sleep: the history of the Nessun Dorma association

The initiative began in 1998, driven by residents of Roma 70 who wanted to counter the lack of cultural offerings in an area long considered a 'dormitory suburb'—lacking squares or real meeting places. Since 2005, the Nessun Dorma social promotion association has organized and coordinated the events, becoming the neighborhood's cultural reference point over the years. The name of the event itself is a small manifesto: a neighborhood 'that does not sleep,' choosing to light up and tell its story through music and intergenerational encounters.

Emerging music, street parades, and street food

The heart of the event is live music, with a program that gives space to emerging bands and singer-songwriters, spanning rock, pop, indie, and the sounds of the new Roman scene. In past editions, the concert was often preceded by a street parade starting from the market to animate the neighborhood streets, while food stalls remained open until midnight. There have also been moments of solidarity, including charity auctions and collaborations with local organizations, confirming the event's social vocation.

The home of Roma 70 Live is the Grottaperfetta Market, in the Roma 70 neighborhood, within the Ardeatino area in southern Rome, in the territory of the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region. It is a daily neighborhood shopping hub that, for this occasion, reinvents itself as a place of culture and gathering, capable of welcoming an intergenerational audience. In recent years, the event has expanded into a true local culture project, featuring exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, and neighborhood live sessions spread between the market and local commercial spaces.

An autumn appointment in Rome

With its free and participatory formula, Roma 70 Live has become a small classic of the Roman autumn outside the city center circuits: a way to discover a less touristy and more authentic side of the Capital, made of community associations, independent music, and neighborhood life.
