Beach rugby takes center stage on the Romagna Riviera
The Riviera Beach Rugby Festival is the summer event that transforms the beach of the Polo Est Village in Bellaria-Igea Marina, in the province of Rimini, into a large beach rugby field. Organized by the club Gurkha Rugby Rimini, the festival attracts teams from all over Italy and abroad for a day of spectacular and adrenaline-filled challenges, played barefoot on the sand, just a stone's throw from the Adriatic Sea.
A tournament that is also a party
More than just a competition, the Riviera Beach Rugby Festival is designed as a big party that combines sports, music, and conviviality. Alongside the matches, there's a program of food & beverage, DJ sets, and a Rimini-style party that livens up the beach until late at night. The atmosphere is typical of the Riviera: summery, sporty, and inclusive, capable of bringing together athletes, enthusiasts, and curious onlookers.
The day's program
The edition focuses on a single intense day that starts in the morning and continues until night:
- Beach rugby tournament with men's and women's teams on the fields set up on the sand of the Polo Est Village;
- Event wristband with dedicated deals for beach and accommodation, designed for those arriving from outside the area;
- Food & beverage area with refreshments throughout the event;
- DJ set and live music, with the party accompanying and closing the sporting day.
How to participate
Tournament registrations are open to interested teams, who can request information and forms by writing directly to the organizers. The participation fee includes, in addition to access to the tournament, a welcome kit and deals with local accommodation facilities.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th, with a day running from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM on the sand of the Polo Est Village in Bellaria-Igea Marina. Team registrations are officially open.
The program includes the beach rugby tournament with teams from all over Italy and abroad, a food & beverage area, the event wristband with beach and accommodation deals, and a Rimini-style party with DJ sets. A summery, sporty, and inclusive atmosphere in the heart of the Romagna Riviera.

By train: Igea Marina or Bellaria station on the Bologna-Ancona Adriatic line, a few minutes from the beach. By car: Rimini Nord exit from the A14 motorway, then follow signs for Bellaria-Igea Marina. By plane: Rimini-San Marino airport, a short distance away.
