Perch risotto by the lake, with the Alpini of Pescate
In the municipality of Pescate, in the province of Lecco, the Risotto Festival is one of the summer's gastronomic highlights. It takes place at Parco Le Torrette, on the lakefront where the Adda River flows out of Lake Lecco. The event is organized by the Pescate Alpini Group, who also use it as an opportunity for solidarity: in some editions, the proceeds have been donated to charity, such as for the earthquake victims in Central Italy or those affected by floods in Romagna.
The signature dish is perch risotto, a fish once abundant in the waters of Lake Lecco and a staple of Larian cuisine. The festival menu also offers radicchio risotto and a range of local specialties: missoltini (dried agone fish typical of the lake), sausages, grilled vegetables, platters of cured meats and cheeses, and French fries.
The festival, traditionally held on the last weekend of August, combines good food with the picturesque lakeside setting of Pescate. It's a popular event, frequented by families and tourists from Lake Como, and a moment of community gathering for the local population.
The Pescate Alpini Group, active in the town's life and in volunteer work, organizes the event. The Risotto Festival is one of the initiatives that best embodies the Alpine spirit of service, conviviality, and attachment to the territory, here in the heart of the province of Lecco.
In 2026, the Pescate Alpini Group will again organize the Risotto Festival at Parco Le Torrette, on the lakefront, on the last weekend of August. The menu that has made the festival famous is confirmed: perch risotto, radicchio risotto, missoltini, sausages, grilled vegetables, and platters of cured meats and cheeses.
The exact date and full menu for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pescate Alpini Group in the weeks prior. The typical structure of the festival includes:
