Contemporary circus, street theatre, and performing arts spread throughout the centre of Saronno
Rêverie is the performing arts festival that enlivens the historic centre of Saronno, in the province of Varese, every summer. The name itself, which in French means "daydream", tells the spirit of the event: a distributed journey through squares and courtyards where contemporary circus, street theatre, music, and dance meet, transforming the city into a continuous stage.
The shows take place in some of the most beautiful locations in the centre: Piazza Libertà, Piazza Indipendenza, Piazza Avis, and the courtyard of Palazzo Visconti. The public is invited to move from one space to another, discovering acrobats, actors, musicians, and dancers each time. It is the format of the distributed festival, which makes the city itself the backdrop for the shows.
Rêverie combines contemporary circus, street theatre, prose theatre, dance, music, and concerts, in a multidisciplinary programme designed for all ages. The evenings generally start from 6 p.m., accompanying the public from late afternoon until night with performances, wonder, and lightness.
Included in the Saronno Estate calendar, Rêverie confirms the city's vocation for live performances in public spaces. For the Saronno community and visitors from the province of Varese, it is an opportunity to experience the historic centre in an unusual and poetic guise, rediscovering the magic of open-air theatre and circus.
The 2026 edition of Rêverie takes place from July 9 to 11 in the historic centre of Saronno, with shows starting from 6 p.m. The distributed festival brings contemporary circus, street theatre, prose theatre, dance, music, and concerts to Piazza Libertà, Piazza Indipendenza, Piazza Avis, and the courtyard of Palazzo Visconti.
