Vintage car rally in the birthplace of Battista "Pinin" Farina
The "Remembering Pininfarina" rally takes place in Cortanze, a small town in the province of Asti, tucked away in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont. The location is no coincidence: it was here in Cortanze that Giovanni Battista Farina—known to everyone as "Pinin" Farina—was born on November 2, 1893. He founded the legendary coachbuilding firm that officially adopted the name Pininfarina in 1961. The event celebrates one of the fathers of Italian automotive design, whose name is synonymous with some of the most elegant cars of the 20th century.
The event is organized by CAMEA - Club Auto Moto Epoca Astigiano, an association affiliated with the ASI (Italian Historic Automotoclub) that has long promoted the culture of historic vehicles in the region. The rally attracts collectors and vintage car enthusiasts, who bring a parade of classic vehicles to life through the streets and squares of the village, which is overlooked by its iconic medieval castle with cylindrical towers.
With just over 250 inhabitants, Cortanze is a small jewel of the Monferrato, a land of vineyards and rolling hills recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The day of the rally is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Asti province, far from the main tourist trails, where a passion for engines blends with Piedmontese tradition and hospitality.
"Remembering Pininfarina" is part of the official CAMEA calendar and is aimed at both club members and historic motoring enthusiasts who wish to participate in a day dedicated to classic four-wheeled treasures. The event unites the memory of a great protagonist of automotive history with the beauty of the land where it all began.
The 2026 appointment with "Remembering Pininfarina" is set for Sunday, July 5 in Cortanze (Asti). As per tradition, the historic car rally organized by CAMEA - Club Auto Moto Epoca Astigiano celebrates the figure of Battista "Pinin" Farina in the village where he was born.
At the moment, the full program, including times, route, and participation details, is being finalized. Updates are published on the CAMEA event calendar: we advise those interested to check the club's website or contact the organizers for further details.
