The amateur theatre festival by the Circolo Acli at the Cinema Nuovo in Capolona
Rassegnamoci is the theatre festival that brings the Cinema Nuovo in Capolona to life every year. Located in a small town in the province of Arezzo, overlooking the Arno river at the gateway to the Casentino valley, the venue serves as a cultural hub. Organised by the Circolo Acli of Capolona in partnership with Nata Teatro and under the patronage of the Municipality, the festival is a tangible sign of the cultural commitment of the recently reopened club. The idea is simple and effective: to bring people back to the theatre once a month to enjoy local comedy.
The programme runs throughout the winter season, with one show per month from October to May, totalling eight events. The lineup expertly blends Arezzo-based companies with guest performers from outside the province, focusing primarily on amateur theatre and light-hearted comedyโoften in local dialectโwhich has always been the heart of the Tuscan and Casentino theatrical tradition.
The evenings, usually held on Saturdays at 9:00 PM, are designed for a broad, intergenerational audience. Actors of all ages, from children to seniors, take the stage in performances that weave together laughter, music, and collective memory. It is "home-made" theatre in the noblest sense of the term, where the quality of the staging meets the warmth of a community coming together.
Among the festival's standout performers is the Compagnia del Polvarone, led by Roberta Sodi, which presented the play Come eravamoโa witty and highly entertaining reinterpretation of the 1950s, enriched by musical interludes from the Ardacapo group and featuring a large, multi-generational cast. Alongside them, other local amateur theatre groups take turns on stage, in a calendar that renews the joy of meeting in the theatre every year.
Capolona is a village in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, situated along the Arno valley between the provincial capital and the entrance to the Casentino. The Cinema Nuovo, a historic venue in the town, is the reference point for local cultural life and provides the perfect setting for Rassegnamoci, turning every event into an opportunity for residents and theatre lovers from the surrounding areas to meet.
The second season of Rassegnamoci confirmed the festival's successful formula: one play per month, from October 2025 to May 2026, at the Cinema Nuovo in Capolona, organised by the Circolo Acli with Nata Teatro and the patronage of the Municipality. The programme featured local companies from the Arezzo area alongside guest performers from outside the province.
Among the most acclaimed events, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 9:00 PM, the Compagnia del Polvarone, led by Roberta Sodi, performed Come eravamoโa witty comedy revisiting the 1950s, embellished by musical interludes from the Ardacapo group and a cast featuring performers aged 7 to 80.
The 2025-2026 season consisted of eight shows, one per month from October to May, featuring Arezzo-based companies and guest performers. For the full calendar of other events, please refer to the communications from the Circolo Acli of Capolona.
