About Rassegnamoci

Rassegnamoci is the amateur theatre festival hosted by the Circolo Acli in Capolona, in the province of Arezzo, at the local Cinema Nuovo. Launched in collaboration with Nata Teatro and supported by the local municipality, it features one play per month from October to May: eight events showcasing local Arezzo-based companies and guest performers, ranging from witty dialect comedies to fun family-friendly shows.

A season of popular theatre in the heart of the Casentino

Rassegnamoci is the theatre festival that brings the Cinema Nuovo in Capolona to life every year. Located in a small town in the province of Arezzo, overlooking the Arno river at the gateway to the Casentino valley, the venue serves as a cultural hub. Organised by the Circolo Acli of Capolona in partnership with Nata Teatro and under the patronage of the Municipality, the festival is a tangible sign of the cultural commitment of the recently reopened club. The idea is simple and effective: to bring people back to the theatre once a month to enjoy local comedy.

One play a month, from October to May

The programme runs throughout the winter season, with one show per month from October to May, totalling eight events. The lineup expertly blends Arezzo-based companies with guest performers from outside the province, focusing primarily on amateur theatre and light-hearted comedyโ€”often in local dialectโ€”which has always been the heart of the Tuscan and Casentino theatrical tradition.

The evenings, usually held on Saturdays at 9:00 PM, are designed for a broad, intergenerational audience. Actors of all ages, from children to seniors, take the stage in performances that weave together laughter, music, and collective memory. It is "home-made" theatre in the noblest sense of the term, where the quality of the staging meets the warmth of a community coming together.

The companies and the shows

Among the festival's standout performers is the Compagnia del Polvarone, led by Roberta Sodi, which presented the play Come eravamoโ€”a witty and highly entertaining reinterpretation of the 1950s, enriched by musical interludes from the Ardacapo group and featuring a large, multi-generational cast. Alongside them, other local amateur theatre groups take turns on stage, in a calendar that renews the joy of meeting in the theatre every year.

Capolona and its Cinema Nuovo

Capolona is a village in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, situated along the Arno valley between the provincial capital and the entrance to the Casentino. The Cinema Nuovo, a historic venue in the town, is the reference point for local cultural life and provides the perfect setting for Rassegnamoci, turning every event into an opportunity for residents and theatre lovers from the surrounding areas to meet.
