Stalls, music, and entertainment along the streets of the Cristo district in Alessandria, every April 25th
The Quartiere Cristo Spring Fair is one of the most anticipated spring events in Alessandria, the capital of the province of the same name in Piedmont. Every April 25th, the Cristo district, located in the western part of the city, comes alive from early morning with a long procession of stalls extending for about 2.5 kilometers along Via Carlo Alberto, Corso Acqui, Piazza Zanzi, and surrounding areas.
More than just a market fair, it is a true community celebration: over 160 stands offering crafts, hobbies, and local food products are interspersed with exhibitions of vintage cars, motorcycles, and historic vehicles, while concerts, entertainment, and family activities fill the neighborhood streets. The event is organized by the Quartiere Cristo Business and Trade Association, in collaboration with local businesses and community groups.
The program offers something for everyone. The day kicks off with the roving music of the Donkey Stuzzica Band, while Corso Acqui hosts a gathering of vintage cars, motorcycles, and historic vehicles, including classic tractors. In the afternoon, the district's squares turn into stages: from choral singing and dance music to rock, blues, and cover bands that recreate the atmosphere of the 70s and 80s.
One of the attractions that has made the event famous is the Alessandria stop for the casting of the Zecchino d'Oro, the historic children's song festival from the Antoniano in Bologna. For an entire day, children can participate in auditions, workshops, and entertainment activities, turning the Cristo district into a small "Children's City." It is this mix of music, motors, popular tradition, and family-friendly focus that makes the Spring Fair an unmissable event for the people of Alessandria.
The 2026 edition, scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, confirmed the event's winning formula, with over 160 stands spread over approximately 2.5 km and a rich calendar of shows for all ages. With growing public participation, live music, historic motors, and the national stage of the Zecchino d'Oro, it was one of the most attended editions.
Throughout the district streets, rock, blues, and 70s/80s cover bands performed, alongside entertainment, eco-games, face painting, magic, and cosplay competitions.
Every year on April 25th, from 8:00 AM until evening. Most activities are free to attend.

Alessandria is easily accessible by train (Alessandria station, on the Turin–Genoa and Milan–Genoa lines) and by car via the A21 and A26 motorways. The Cristo district is located in the western part of the city; traffic restrictions are in place during the fair, so it is recommended to use parking lots in adjacent streets.
