The spring celebration at Osteria Grandma in Quadraro Vecchio
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Quadraro Spring Fest is the annual spring celebration held by Osteria Grandma, a historic venue on Via dei Corneli in the heart of Quadraro Vecchioโone of Rome's most authentic and characterful neighborhoods. Every year, on a Sunday in May, the restaurant's courtyard and outdoor gazebo transform into a lively neighborhood meeting point, featuring food, drinks, and music from the afternoon until late.
Operating since 2011, Osteria Grandma began as an informal kitchen blending Roman tradition with Mediterranean and Levantine influences: two culinary worlds at a single table. Carbonara and local Roman classics coexist with Middle Eastern flavors, all paired with wines from small-scale artisanal producers, cocktails, and a curated beer selection. Beyond dining, the venue acts as a cultural and social hub for the district, hosting themed nights, vinyl DJ sets, and community-focused events.
The heart of the festival is the curated music: DJs and selectors spin records ranging from electronic and house to experimental sounds, creating a relaxed, convivial vibe that invites guests to linger all day. It is not a massive stage-based festival, but a neighborhood event on a human scale, where people eat, drink, and dance outdoors in an informal setting.
The Quadraro district, located in the southeast of Rome between the Tuscolana and Casilina areas, is known for its strong working-class identity and the memory of the April 17, 1944, roundup, when Nazis deported hundreds of local men. Today, it is also a vibrant hub for street art and murals (the famous MURo project), making it one of the most interesting destinations for those looking to discover a side of Rome beyond the typical tourist circuits. The Quadraro Spring Fest is fully immersed in this spirit: a celebration that speaks to the neighborhood and its community.
Alongside its culinary offerings, Osteria Grandma maintains a strong social commitment, supporting third-sector organizations active in inclusion and social welfare. The Quadraro Spring Fest is an opportunity to experience this solidarity in a festive way: a free event, open to all, that prioritizes conviviality and local ties.
The 2026 edition of the Quadraro Spring Fest has not yet been officially announced at the time of writing. The spring celebration at Osteria Grandma traditionally takes place on a Sunday in spring in the Quadraro district of Rome, featuring Roman and Mediterranean cuisine, good wine, and music selected by DJs outdoors.
