Puppet Fantasy in Fierozzo
Puppet Fantasy is a puppet theater show for families held at the Maso Filzerhof in Fierozzo, a small town in the Mòcheni Valley in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige. Admission is free, and the event is specifically designed for children and their families, guiding them through a poetic and engaging journey of puppets, music, and small wonders.
The Cultura in Rete Festival
The show is part of the Cultura in Rete: stories, places, and communities in connection festival, a joint cultural project linking the Mòcheni Valley and Vignola Falesina. The initiative is promoted by the municipal administrations of Sant'Orsola Terme, Palù del Fersina, Fierozzo, Frassilongo, and Vignola Falesina, in collaboration with the Mòcheno Cultural Institute, the Valsugana Lagorai Tourist Board, the Alta Valsugana and Bersntol Community, and the Cassa Rurale Alta Valsugana Foundation, as part of the Autonomous Province of Trento's Cultural Grant. The program features shows, concerts, readings, themed evenings, puppet theater, and trekking, aiming to strengthen community bonds and showcase the valley's unique identity.
Maso Filzerhof, the Mòcheni Heart
The venue is no coincidence: Maso Filzerhof is a large rural house first documented in 1324. It is a prime example of the isolated farmhouse settlements typical of the Mòcheni, a Germanic-speaking community that settled in the valley during the Middle Ages and is now recognized as a linguistic minority in Trentino. Long abandoned, the farmhouse was purchased by the Mòcheno Cultural Institute and opened to the public in 1998 as an ethnographic museum (Bersntoler Museum), where rooms and objects tell the story of the valley's rural life. Watching a puppet show in this setting means immersing yourself in the history and identity of a truly unique territory.
An Event for Families
The puppets come to life in a narrative suitable for all ages, filled with fairy-tale characters, plot twists, and poetic moments. This free event is a wonderful opportunity to experience culture in a simple and shared way, in one of the most distinctive valleys of eastern Trentino.

Puppet Fantasy — edition 2026
In the summer of 2026, Puppet Fantasy returns to Maso Filzerhof in Fierozzo on Tuesday, August 12, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The show is performed by the Teatro a Dondolo company of Michela Cannoletta, featuring a puppet story designed for children and their families: characters bringing the story to life include Calipso the Magician, Pinolo the Gnome, Adelante the chick, Agostino, and Uga the turtle.
Admission is free. The event is organized by the Municipality of Sant'Orsola Terme in collaboration with the municipalities of Palù del Fersina, Fierozzo, Frassilongo, and Vignola Falesina, the Mòcheno Cultural Institute, and the partners of the Cultura in Rete festival.

How to get there
Fierozzo is located in the Mòcheni Valley, east of Pergine Valsugana. By car, take the SS47 Valsugana road, exit at Pergine, and follow the valley road; Maso Filzerhof is located on the SP135, just below the road connecting Fierozzo to Palù del Fersina.

Free admission. Early arrival is recommended due to the limited capacity of the museum site.
