The international showcase for Apulian theatre and dance
Puglia Showcase is the premier professional event dedicated to live performance produced in Puglia. Promoted by the Puglia Region and conceived and produced by Puglia Culture, the event acts as a true international "showcase": every year, a panel of experts selects a range of contemporary theatre and dance productions from Apulian companies and stages them in a concentrated format, allowing them to be seen live by industry professionals from all over Italy and abroad.
Following editions hosted in the Valle d'Itria, in 2026 Puglia Showcase arrives in Fasano, in the heart of the province of Brindisi, from July 1st to 4th. For four days, the town of Fasano becomes the capital of contemporary theatre and dance, with twelve selected productions distributed between the Cinema Teatro J. Kennedy, the Teatro Sociale, and the I Portici Community Library "Ignazio Ciaia".
The hallmark of Puglia Showcase is its audience: approximately two hundred and fifty Italian and international cultural professionals, including delegations from Albania, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Croatia, Cuba, Finland, Japan, Greece, Mexico, Panama, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Spain, the United States, Tunisia, Turkey, and Venezuela. For Apulian companies, it is an opportunity to open up to distribution circuits, tours, and co-productions well beyond regional borders.
Alongside the performance schedule, the program includes pitch sessions where companies present their projects, as well as discussion moments and forums dedicated to cultural policies. In 2026, the I Portici Library hosts the meeting "Visions from the South: Culture, Community, and Connections," with regional ministers of culture, presidents of southern regions, and representatives of the Ministry gathered to discuss strategies for strengthening the cultural system of the Mezzogiorno.
Puglia Showcase is funded through the POC 2021-2027 revolving fund and is part of the Puglia Region's initiatives to support cultural and creative industries. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most closely followed live performance showcases in Southern Italy, capable of intertwining the promotion of Apulian artists with the enhancement of the territories that host it each time.
