Budrio's big spring festival, with music, markets, street food, and tradition
Primaveranda is the major spring event that colors the historic center of Budrio every year, a lively town in the plain east of Bologna, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna. For over ten days, between the end of April and the first days of May, the squares and streets of the center transform into a large, widespread space dedicated to music, colors, and flavors, where nature, culture, entertainment, and tradition intertwine in an explosion of spring energy. The festival is organized by the Municipality of Budrio together with the Pro Loco of Budrio and the fabric of local associations and economic operators, with completely free admission.
The heart of the event is the numerous themed markets that animate the streets of the center. Via Marconi hosts days dedicated to the world of collectibles and paper, with the special Antiques, the Book and Paper Fair, and Retro Mania, an immersion into comics, vintage toys, and antique collectibles. In Via Verdi, Primaveranda Vintage takes place, with retro clothing, original accessories, and curiosities with a flavor of yesteryear, while Mercabimbi offers the exchange of toys and clothing for the little ones.
The gastronomic offer is one of Primaveranda's strong points. The Budrio Street Food Festival brings food trucks and mobile kitchens to the city with local specialties and international flavors, set up in Piazza Filopanti and Piazza Matteotti, accompanied by entertainment and live music. An opportunity to rediscover the typical products of the Bolognese plain in a festive atmosphere.
Now in its 37th edition in 2026, Primaveranda is a well-established event in the life of Budrio and the entire Bolognese plain. More than just a local festival, it is a community celebration that intertwines commerce, culture, sport, and gastronomy, enhancing the historic center and its connection with the environment and the spring season. A free event open to all, which attracts visitors from Bologna and neighboring towns every year.
The 37th edition of Primaveranda was held in Budrio from April 23 to May 3, 2026, organized by the Municipality of Budrio and the Pro Loco. For eleven days, the historic center transformed into a widespread space dedicated to music, colors, and flavors.
The program included themed markets in the streets of the center, the Budrio Street Food Festival with food trucks in Piazza Filopanti, live concerts on the opening days with the Boom Rock Fest, as well as sports events, exhibitions, and cultural appointments. The event was confirmed as free admission and suitable for families and visitors of all ages.
