The Ponna Cheese Festival
Ponna is a small municipality in the province of Como, spread across the hamlets of Ponna Superiore, Ponna di Mezzo, and Ponna Inferiore, in the heart of Valle Intelvi, the plateau separating the Como branch of Lake Como from Lake Lugano. Here, in July, the Ponna Sports Association organizes the Cheese Festival, one of the most popular events in the valley's summer calendar.
Artisan Market and Tastings
For one day, the entire village transforms into a journey of taste: an artisan market winds through the streets and squares, while stalls offer tastings of local cheeses, expressions of the mountain cheesemaking tradition of Valle Intelvi. The festival combines the promotion of typical products with the conviviality of an outdoor day, bringing together residents, holidaymakers, and hikers.

For the Municipality of Ponna and the Province of Como, the Cheese Festival is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Larian pre-Alps, far from the most crowded lake routes, where the culture of cheese tells the ancient bond between the community and its mountains.

The 2026 edition brings the traditional Cheese Festival back to Ponna. Following the pattern of recent editions, the day will feature an artisan market along the village streets and tastings of cheeses from the Valle Intelvi region.
